My name is Emily and I have recently became part of That Recruit as an account assistant apprentice. I was shocked when I received the offer for this role but I was excited and did not know what to expect.
I previously was studying a levels in a local school but knew accountancy was an area I was highly interested in. Therefore I was constantly searching online for current vacancies for an apprenticeship. I came across That Recruits advertisement and applied straight away. The following day, I received a phone call from the company and that same day I was going to attend an interview.
After that, I spoke a few times more with Daniel and I got offered the apprenticeship! I was ridiculously excited but nervous at the same time.
On my first day, I got introduced to the members of staff I would be working with- who are very friendly- and was also shown the main websites/ software used by the company to make myself familiar with it. Next, I watched a few introduction to accountancy videos online to originate myself with the terminology I may be hearing and using. My first task was sorting through invoices which although might sound boring, was actually interesting and I felt like this is where it all began.
I have already had contact with some customers over email. This was nerve-racking at first but a good learning experience that I do require and I am beginning to feel more comfortable in doing.
Since then, I have been introduced to other tasks that I will be doing on a regular basis such as: reconciliations and statements. Furthermore I am still highly enjoying it. I have nearly completed my first week as an accounts apprentice for That Recruit and I am very excited for the many weeks to come.
I am very lucky to have been given this opportunity and I look forward to developing as an accounts assistant in the company
I have worked with That Recruit for the last four months to find suitable candidates for Abacare, our award winning care business. We usually use recruitment agencies, however for this particular vacancy it seemed more appropriate to try a cheaper recruitment option. In setting up the initial advert it was very easy and quick, and the staff at ThatRecruit were very helpful and efficient in coming back to me and in authorizing the advert. The software to manage the vacancy was easy to use and the ability to mark candidates with a status was helpful. As an improvement it would be useful to be able to select all those marked as rejected and be able to bulk message them with a decline message or have an option to allow the candidates to see their status. Overall it’s been easy to manage this recruitment placement through ThatRecruit and we had an exceptional response to the advertisement with 72 applicants and having to close the advert early.
The process was easy to manage and we received a high number of responses.
