Setting Recruitment Goals For 2018

As we near the end of 2017, it’s the perfect opportunity to look back on your recruitment strategy and evaluate its effectiveness. A new year brings a fresh opportunity to formulate a comprehensive recruitment strategy utilising what has worked well and trying out new ideas.

Having a thought out recruitment strategy has its advantages:

Advertising

Where to advertise your job role is one of the most important things you can consider when formulating your recruitment strategy. What job board to use will obviously depend on the role itself. Should you use a generalist job board with millions of active users or an industry-specific board with less monthly users but highly qualified talent? You could, of course, use a mixture of the two but you will soon find that using more than one job board can be very costly. Luckily That Recruit can take the headache out of advertising your role. With a huge network of high traffic generalist job boards as well as industry-specific boards you truly get the best of both worlds while maintaining a low cost.

Candidate apply process

Now a candidate has seen your role and wants to apply, great, but this process should be as quick and painless as possible. Although some employers will want candidates to fill out lengthy application forms, our research has shows that 82% of job seekers drop out of the application process when they have to fill out more than their name, email address and sending a CV.

The application process at That Recruit has been designed from the ground up to minimise candidates dropping out of the process. For the majority of the job boards we use, if a candidate already has an account, all the job seeker needs to do is press the ‘Apply’ button and the candidates contact details and CV are automatically sent over to our ATS in real time ready for clients to view in their dashboard. If a candidate does not have an account or an account is not possible (e.g. social media) then the candidate is directed to one of That Recruit’s apply pages that as well as offering one-click applying from top names such as Indeed and Monster, offers the candidate the option to apply easily by providing only their name, email address and uploading their CV.

Contacting Candidates

Great candidates don’t wait around. As well as applying for your role they could also be applying for ten others. It is absolutely vital that you contact them as soon as possible. You don’t want a competitor to make an offer to your candidate before you have even reviewed their CV. At That Recruit, we always advise our clients to shortlist candidates at least once a day. You also shouldn’t wait until you have a full list of shortlisted talent before making initial contact. If you see a candidates CV that you like, ring them there and then. If they don’t answer drop them an email and follow it up with another call an hour or two later. Don’t be disheartened if you cant get in contact with a candidate straight away, they could be busy working. Most recruitment consultants make the majority of their candidate calls between the hours of 1800-2000.

A recruitment strategy isn’t a perfect science and can take a lot of trial and error to get right. Why not give us a call now on 0843 2898 581 and see how we can take the hassle out of recruitment for your business in 2018.

What our clients say about us

We usually use recruitment agencies, however for this particular vacancy it seemed more appropriate to try a cheaper recruitment option. In setting up the initial advert it was very easy and quick, and the staff at ThatRecruit were very helpful and efficient in coming back to me and in authorizing the advert. The software to manage the vacancy was easy to use and the ability to mark candidates with a status was helpful. As an improvement it would be useful to be able to select all those marked as rejected and be able to bulk message them with a decline message or have an option to allow the candidates to see their status. Overall it’s been easy to manage this recruitment placement through ThatRecruit and we had an exceptional response to the advertisement with 72 applicants and having to close the advert early.
